Hi… welcome to the website of West Euston Partnership (WEP). We work on behalf of the community situated between Euston Station and Regent’s Park in north London.

WEP was set up in 1992, by local people, to help make their area a better place to live and work. Originally, local people were most concerned about our youth, particularly street fighting, racial tension and the lack of facilities or opportunities. It was issues like these that brought local stakeholders together, as well as a strong commitment to make things better… and so WEP was born…

West Euston Ability Bikes in Regent’s Park: New Saturday Morning Sessions start 28.4.2012

Duet: Rider cycles and controls, companion sits in bucket seat ahead

West Euston Partnership has taken delivery of four new bikes (two side by sides and two single seater trikes) and a hand pedalled trike expected soon which will offer 9 units for use by trained riders and their companions.

Sessions for trained riders and their companions

Ability Bike sessions resume weekly on Saturday 28 April 2012 at Regent’s Park with hour long sessions between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm for trained riders and their companions. 

To book, please e mail (coordinator@westeustonpartnership.co.uk) with your preference and include: Rider’s (your) name, companion’s name (eg your child), contact mobile number, bike to be used, preferred time.

Training for new riders and volunteers

Training for new riders and new volunteers will also take place on Saturday mornings subject to availability of preferred bike.

West Euston Partnership supports Camden’s petition against HS2

West Euston Partnership has worked with and supported residents and businesses as soon as it became clear that the proposed High Speed Rail HS2 would demolish more homes inWest Eustonthan the whole of the rest of the route and slash the trade ofDrummond Street’s shops, restaurants and pubs during construction.

West Euston Partnership’s well attended public meetings and securing a debate at the Camden Council meeting in June 2011 encouraged councillors from all parties to agree a firm policy against HS2 in the borough.

The council is developing its arguments against HS2 and its impacts and is asking for support for its petition which calls for 6 key assurances:

  • up-front funds to relieve the loss of local housing, business, open space, community facilities and schools
  • deliver funds to secure local sites for replacement housing
  • appropriate measures to minimise local blight, disruption, noise and disturbance and along the High Speed Rail route
  • demonstrate support for businesses, most notablyDrummond Street, that will experience disruption as a result of the lengthy construction period
  • to prevent development above the re-built Euston station being used a ‘cash cow’ pay for works elsewhere and ensuringCamdenretains the decision making powers to decide what this development delivers.
  • provide sufficient investment to manage onward movement of passengers at Euston

Easter 2012 School Holidays Football Coaching with Queens Park Rangers FC – Places still available for 10 April course

Although fully booked and under way, West Euston Football School still has places on its second week of its morning coaching sessions with QPR in the Community Trust at Cumberland Market, Regent’s Park Estate, NW1 3RH for 7 – 11 year old girls and boys between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm.  Courses are free and will take place on:

Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 April 2012.

Places are limited (maximum 30 per course) and new applicants will get priority.

An application form (see link below) should be completed by a parent/carer for their child to attend the sessions and returned West Euston Partnership, One Stop Shop, Corner Hampstead Road & Robert Street, London, NW1 3ED or e mailed to coordinator@westeustonpartnership.co.uk.

Summer term Cricket coaching in Regent’s Park starts April 2012

West Euston Partnership is again supporting Regent’s Park Cricket Club promotion of cricket skills training and league participation this summer.

 

There will be an Open Morning and registration session at The Hub, Regent’s Park on Saturday 21 April from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Girls and boys in school years 4, 5 and 6 can join The Academy.  It is for all children wanting to learn the basics and develop (softball) cricket skills before graduating to the club’s Colts section playing competitive hardball fixtures.

Starting 30 April 2012, there will be 10 sessions over 10 weeks until 13th July from 4.30pm-5.45pm at The Hub, Regent’s Park.

Young people aged 11 to 17 can train take part in Regent’s Park Cricket Club which is a junior cricket club with 5 teams participating in the Middlesex Colts Central Leagues.

Starting 25 April 2012, training will take place every Wednesday from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm (6.30pm finish for under 11s) until 18 July 2012.

Whilst there is a £50 charge for courses, Royal Parks advise that there are concessions available and that they can make it free for children on free school meals.

We have a new beginners fun aerobics for fitness class at the h pod, every Monday 1:30-2:30pm.  Come and join Mariam as she gets you moving to the music, whilst working up a sweat!

Never exercised before, or haven’t exercise for a while…this class is for you!
