The HS2 proposals would require a new station at Euston which will involve significant impacts on our neighbourhoods and the surrounding area.  West Euston Partnership is very concerned by the HS2 project and supports local opposition to the potential negative impacts on the areas affected by its construction, particularly around the Regent’s Park Estate, Drummond Street and Euston.

West Euston Partnership is encouraging all residents to get involved with plans for the area around Euston Station should High Speed 2 (HS2) get the go ahead.  This will help to shape change in the area over the next 15-20 years.

If the HS2 project goes ahead, despite everyone’s objections, it is important that the Camden Council plans ahead to get the best possible results for local people and businesses and to make the most of any potential benefits a new station and rail link could present.

The Euston Area Plan will work with our communities to minimise the impact of the HS2 project and develop proposals which reflect our people’s aspirations for the area whether HS2 goes ahead or not.  The plan’s purpose is to ensure the replacement of homes, jobs, open spaces affected by HS2 and that any additional development meets local priorities for the area.  The Plan will be finalised by late 2014 and the emerging  plans and policies will be shared with HS2 to influence their emerging plans.
